Alvis Marga

Alvis Marga has graduated from the University of Latvia, Faculty of Law in 1994 and started the duties of an attorney at law in the Riga Legal Office No.6.

After a successful pass of the attorney exam in June, 1999 he is sworn in by the President of the Supreme Court of Latvia and becomes a member of Latvian Collegium of Sworn Advocates starting his individual lawyer’s practice in the Riga Legal Office No.6. In December 1999 Alvis Marga together with sworn advocates Ainārs Vīnkalns and Aivars Bērziņš established the Attorney Office “Bērziņš, Marga un Vīnkalns”.

Besides his activity as attorney at law Alvis Marga has won the insolvency administrator certificate in January 2003. He has served in this capacity in more than 100 cases of business remediation, liquidation and bankruptcy. As an insolvency administrator he has successfully assisted in the bankruptcy proceedings of the biggest Baltic meat processing company “Triāls”.

In addition to the duties of a lawyer and a certified insolvency administrator Alvis Marga is an active arbitrator at the Riga Arbitration Court. He has received the title of Honorary Arbitrator of the Riga Arbitration Court by the decision of the court’s president.

In order to widen his expertise in international law Alvis Marga has studied business, marketing and corporate restructuring in Essex, UK in 1994.
